Through Hills and Valleys, São Miguel isn’t short on walking trails. With abundant vegetation and waterfalls, black sand beaches and mountains, in São Miguel Island you have the opportunity to be at one with nature.

If you love walking and hiking, you have to try the walking trails available in São Miguel. Of these trails, the most known are probably the Vista do Rei trail, which goes along part of the top of the ridge of Sete Cidades volcano, and the Faial da Terra\Sanguinho trail, a magical trail where you enter the deep forest, leading to a waterfall called Salto do Prego (Nail’s Jump) and then to an old village being rebuilt, the Sanguinho village.
